But it overshoots, the subject pressed on the button too long. The subject releases the button

The subject waits for the virtual object to stop.

The subject decides to brake the object, and he/she presses the left button

The virtual object moves back and reaches the position of the target

but it overshoots again, now to the left.

The subject releases the button but the object continues moving because of its momentum

The object stops

The subject moves the object to the right again.

The subject anticipates when the object will stop and releases the button

The object coasts to stop at the target's position. The subject does not move it anymore.

The target changes position and a new trial starts.
